Hello! – Hey! – I know you had plans today but I was wondering if you could join me on a Worth It adventure.- I don’t know, I’mpregnant it seems weird. – We got two co-hosts todayand you have a home gym don’t you? – I do! – Can we start there? – I do like showing it off so yes. – Yeah, let’s go! -[ Kate] I have a rower.( ding) -[ Steven] Whoa. -[ Kate] I have a climb casket. -[ Both] Yay! -[ Kate] I got this nice kettle bell. A pull up bar. -[ Steven] Does your babyworkout with you in here? – Yeah, she likes it. -[ Steven] You’re coming right? You’re good to go? – Okay, I approximate, yeah. -[ Steven] Alright, there we go Kate. That’s what she does. – I do, I do like that. -[ Steven] I’m not justpunching a pregnant woman. Today on Worth It Lifestyle we’re going to be trying three gyms at three drasticallydifferent rate points to find out which one is themost worth it at its price.- You resound profesh at that. – That’s actually when you say “Worth It” – Do I say it now? – Well, you can say it now. – Worth it! – Yeah I’ve heard legends of you being pregnant and working out. – Sometimes when I was breastfeeding Flynn I’d wake up a littlebefore five, pump, work out and then go to work all day. – When you said pump, Ithought you were going to say pump iron. – Oh, two types of pumping. A doubled pump morning.( both laugh) – I will not be pumpinganything other than forces.( Upbeat music) – My name is Tony Callhoun. We’re at AC4 Fitness. We’re a neighborhood gym. We’ve been doing this for about six years. We focus on taking care ofthat which you’ve been given, whether that applies toyour body and your state or whether it applies to the planet. We try to be a little dark-green. Maybe information like thisflooring or engineering like ReRev which is cardio equipment that produces electricity.We want to be a leader inthat regard in our industry and you know hopefullyour members can take pride in being a part of that wander. – I like the relevant recommendations oflike , not only taking care of yourself but thecommunity and countries around the world all at the same time. I’d like to hear more about how the green gear works. -[ Connor] There’s a lot ofthings that we’ve tried to impel the gym extremely dark-green. The rubber that you’restanding on is made out of recycled textile. This fan that we have is the same as having 36 small followers around the gym. It’s very energy efficient. The cupboards are made outof recycled fabrics. -[ Steven] Functional, clean, and it’s recycled. More than5 3 thousand water bottles and this has only been in for 18 months. I do like that they giveit at apartment temperature because I’m a area temperature person. -[ Steven] Me very! – Yeah!( bottle clinking) – Now that’s high pH. So what is this? What’s going on? – This is a treadmill thatdoesn’t plug into the wall to get power, it pushes intothe wall to give power back to the building.So when you’re on it you’rerunning, you’re actually growing dominance like abig generator and the belt is kind of weighted. Most gyms sell morememberships than they can actually hold inside the gym. They count on beings notshowing up at the gym. – That’s a real glasshalf empty perspective. – Yeah. We’re going back to LosAngeles and we’re going to meet at Downtown LA for a gym called the, Los Angeles Athletic Club. – Sounds fanciful. – It is idea, how’d you are familiar with?( Upbeat music) – I’m Cory Hathaway, I’m theassistant general manager of Los Angeles Athletic Club. Like, it feels like there’sso many things you could do. – Some members will joinwith fitness in subconsciou and then will maybe get sidetrackedby some of the other floors.( Smooth music) -[ Steven] Want to play some squash? – Um, I don’t know how, but okay. – I don’t either. – Alright. – Oop.- Wait. Wait, it doesn’t move. -[ Kate] Is this really how this ball is?( Upbeat music) Wow! – This is my happy place. This is my favorite part of any gym. -[ Kate] This is a uncommon gym thing. I’ve never seen abasketball law in a gym. Not in Los Angeles -[ Steven] Yeah because there’sjust not enough space in LA. This is crazy, there’sactually area around, there’s padding here forwhen you go in very hard.This is awesome. -[ Kate] Uh-huh.( upbeat music) Wow! -[ Steven] I know, I’m happy.( Intense music) -[ Kate] Oh, it’s counting my reps for me. This sit is our firstfacility was initiated in 1994 so this will be our 24 th year here. – Wow.- Yeah. – Congrats.- Thanks. When we improve it, there werereally two industries right there was the medical industryand the fitness business.And they didn’t really get along so well. We’re both trying to do the same thing, which is take care of people. And I felt, I crave theseresources in one place. So we built this lieu. What you’re going to dotoday is “re going through” what our process is. Evaluate, assess, examine, platform, supervise, and reevaluate. We take orthopedic data, we take behavioral data, nutritional data, andthen you do an exercise physiology test. And we assess that data, signifying we look at it then we review it. Then we’ll pattern a programbased off of those measure results and the program will have to do with what you’re weakest at. We have two types of equipment, there are these which arethe residential equipment that we designed, thatpeople in the building get to utilize.Now, they don’t have togo through the entire process, they may justwant to come down and bowl or use the treadmill. Which is fine with us. -[ Steven] Whoa! – Yay! -[ Pat] We think thatactivity is activity. We’re not snobby aboutwhat the above-mentioned activities is. In here, in this place, you’re all in, so you’re going to do the whole thing today. -[ Steven] Wow.( ding) -[ Pat] So the firstthing we do with anybody who comes in and whatyou’re going through today is an evaluation. And when we say evaluatethat makes collect data. – Come on in Steven. – So you guys are gonna gothrough different process but just for the matter oftoday because we’ll simply have today to do this, we’re gonna focus on you and what you’re going through.- My role in the evaluationis to really find out basic medical information about you. – Let’s do it. – And you’re young and healthyso if you have any problems, I will be surprised. -[ pAT] So the first thing you would do is you would investigate our medical team. The conclude we do that firstis to see if there’s any underlying medical issuesthat you need to really take care of before we startdoing an exercise program.- I had a major issue with my IT band, it just like, ever keptstiffening up and hurting to the point where like, I only couldn’t run for like, weeks at a time. -[ Pat] So then after thatyou would see a nutritionist who’s an anointed dietitiannamed Dawn Poirier. – Give me a epoch in thelife of eating for you. What is a ordinary breakfast? – Oh my gosh. Okay, I have to give youcontext, I do a nutrient reveal for the internet.( Kate roars) – Okay. – Where I eat, for an examplewe’d do an bout on steak and I’ll eat three steaks in one day. – Wow. -[ Pat] Then you wouldsee our orthopedic squad. You’re going to be seeing Dr. Destefano. – There’s a bit limitationin right pirouette and some of the supportivemusculature of the neck that goes into the shoulder is tighten. -[ Pat] Then you’regoing to sit with some of our behavioral team.Either a psychologist or a social worker. – Can you delineategoals that you would want to accomplish here? – I don’t know how to workout held my proceed schedule so, figuring out somethingthat works for me and saves me motivated. – Okay. – I’m always on the road andI eat whatever’s available. I’ve never seen something written about me that has, you are familiar with, thismany pages of things about me and then you got this, my platform. – And that’s for the next 12 weeks and there’s a series of objectives which are statedby a gang of techniques on how we’re going to goabout doing those things. – So, you’re doing thisfor every person that treads into the gym. – Everyone does this process, yes. It’s a programme designed centricmodel, it’s not a coach centric simulate, it’s notwhat I feel like doing to you today.It’s what the data says you need to do. – Based on the resultsof that, you will go to a test which is relevant towhat you need to be doing. So, for example I know thatyou passed cross country so loping is something you’ve done before. So we’re going to do again analysis on you today. That’s basically avideotaped assessment of how you actually move.-[ Steven] So you’re goingto physically record us, and we’re going to watch ourselves run. – Yep. And then we’regoing to take you off that and we’re going to dosome instructs to try and increase your perceptionof how you’re running and what running is. What moves you? – I take my paw and I go. – This watch doesn’thave a lot of muscles. What simply moved it? – Gravity. – Right. In order to move you have to fall. Where’s your weight? -[ Steven] All on my forearms right here. – On your limbs, that’s it. Which gym was the most worthit to you at its premium? – I’m gonna go with, La Palestra Which blows my knowledge becauseI don’t want to be the person to choose the most expensive of something, but I’m a little older than you.So, I gotta think aboutlike how to keep exercising for like, the next 20 times, you know? And not always running super hard-boiled. – That’s fair. I adored all the gyms. What can compare to LA AC? Like, It’s massive.- Yeah. -[ Steven] But, I fantasize I’mgonna go with AC4 Fitness. Because of the appraise.
