Today on Worth It Lifestyle we’re going to be trying three gyms at three drasticallydifferent rate points to find out which one is themost worth it at its price. – You reverberated profesh at that. – That’s actually when “youre telling” “Worth It” – Do I say it now? – Well, you can say it now. – Worth it! – Yeah I’ve heard legends of you being pregnant and working out. – Sometimes when I was breastfeeding Flynn I’d wake up a littlebefore five, shoot, work out and then go to work all day. – When you said pump, Ithought you were going to say pump iron. – Oh, two types of pumping. A doubled gush morning.( both laugh) – I is not be pumpinganything other than values .( Upbeat music) – My name is Tony Callhoun. We’re at AC4 Fitness. We’re a neighborhood gym. We’ve been doing this for about six years. We focus on taking care ofthat which you’ve been given, whether that applies toyour body and your state or whether it applies to the planet. We try to be a little lettuce. Maybe cloths like thisflooring or technology like ReRev which is cardio equipment that produces energy. We want to be a leader inthat relation in our industry and you know hopefullyour members can take pride in being a part of that excursion. – I like the idea oflike , not just taking care of yourself but thecommunity and countries around the world all at the same time. I’d like to hear more about how the green rig works.-[ Connor] There’s a lot ofthings that we’ve tried to obligate the gym very dark-green. The rubber that you’restanding on is made out of recycled substance. This supporter that we have is the same as having 36 tiny devotees around the gym. It’s very power efficient. The lockers are made outof recycled textiles. -[ Steven] Functional, clean-living, and it’s recycled. What more can you ask for? – Yeah. – I don’t need amber lockers. – I don’t know, you’rekind of a fanciful chap. – A little bit.( tittering) – There’s Eco-Waterdownstairs to make sure that you guys don’t have plastic bottles you can reuse your waterbottle every time you come.-[ Kate] Wow. More than5 3 thousand water bottles and this has only been in for 18 months. I do like that they giveit at room temperature because I’m a room temperature being. -[ Steven] Me too! – Yeah!( bottle tinkle) – Now that’s high-pitched pH. So what is this? What’s going on? – This is a treadmill thatdoesn’t plug into the wall to get power, it plugs intothe wall to give power back to the building. So when you’re on it you’rerunning, you’re actually creating supremacy like abig generator and the belt is various kinds of weighted. So it’s a great workout. – Eco-Mill, give power and amplification quadruplets. -[ Connor] What we havehere is the ReRev arrangement, when you’re on the ellipticalit’s actually produce ability. -[ Steven] So are allof these 10 ellipticals raising influence for the building? -[ Connor] Yes. – Let’s try to get it up there.- Ready to get up? – Okay, yeah, let’s max this thing out.( upbeat music) -[ Kate] We did it! We demonstrated a little powerback while we were here. -[ Ian] These are medical score couches. You’re often knows where to find these people at a chiropractor’s office. They use heated ocean jetsunder the rubber divider now to give you a heated spray massage. – I do like it. -[ Steven] I wonder if you’rebaby is loving it right now .( Kate giggles) – Well, you gotta try it. – So I really lie down? -[ Ian] We’re going to goahead and resume that rub. – Oh, whoa, oh, you know what that …( chortles) -[ Laughing) You’re so ticklish. – I don’t know why my laughingstock is so ticklish. – Wow. Steven fact!( everyone titters) – That hydro massager. I don’t know what happened, okay. My body. – You even let the wholeexperience wash over you. – I don’t know if I would do it again. – That is something I can’tget in my own residence gym. – Gym fact! Most gyms sell morememberships than they can actually hold inside the gym. They count on beings notshowing up at the gym. – That’s a real glasshalf empty perspective.- Yeah. We’re going back to LosAngeles and we’re going to meet at Downtown LA for a gym called the, Los Angeles Athletic Club. – Sounds thought. – It is thought, how’d you are familiar with?( Upbeat music) – I’m Cory Hathaway, I’m theassistant general manager of Los Angeles Athletic Club. It’s a 12 narrative, 125,000 sq paw facility. Percentage of the purpose of theclub when this building was constructed was to train Olympic contestants. Our members facilitated bringthe 1932 Olympics to LA. – So, what you’re saying isif I get a membership now I can become an olympian as well. – It’ll obviously get you closer. We showcase a good deal of athletics now. Swimming, basketball, squash, racquetball, handball. – If a gym has a basketballcourt, sign me up.( giggles) -[ Cory] We have two ponds. One right above us isactually the first reserve built above ground westof the Mississippi. -[ Kate] That’s so rareto see gyms that have all this history and backstory. Do people come here alot really to hang out? Like, it feels like there’sso many things you could do. – Some members will joinwith fitness in memory and then will maybe get sidetrackedby some of the other storeys .( Smooth music) -[ Steven] Want to play some squash? – Um, I don’t know how, but okay. – I don’t either. – Alright. – Oop.- Wait. Wait, it doesn’t bouncing. -[ Kate] Is this really how this ball is?( Upbeat music) Wow! – This is my happy place. This is my favorite one of the purposes of any gym. -[ Kate] This is a rare gym thing. I’ve never seen abasketball field in a gym. Not in Los Angeles -[ Steven] Yeah because there’sjust not enough space in LA. This is crazy, there’sactually office around, there’s padding now forwhen you go in too hard. This is awesome. -[ Kate] Uh-huh.( upbeat music) Wow! -[ Steven] I know, I’m happy.( Intense music) -[ Kate] Oh, it’s counting my reps for me. What! -[ Steven] Whoa, and it, Oh I investigate, it say to you how far you go. -[ Kate] What, that’s great. – Want me to do some bench press? – There’s no weights on there. – I know, but it’s still 45 pounds Annie.( Intense music) I’m going to make this away.( giggling) – The last floor of athleticsis what we would call more of the relaxationlocker area, parlour, spa. – This is very classy. Is this a hot tub? -[ Steven] That’s a whirlpool bath! In the locker area. – That’s crazy. -[ Steven] Ooo.- Wow! – Showers. -[ Kate] Guess I’m going tohave a bathtub suffer. -[ Steven] What, what is this? It’s like a meadow. Is this a sauna? What is this? -[ Kate] I think so. I feel like you could payfor merely the locker room and certainly get your money’s worth. – Yeah.( Laughing) What, where are we? -[ Kate] I feel like Ientered a secret society .( Smooth music) I probably shouldn’t touchthis substance, it all looks very old. -[ Steven] This is nota cupboard office anymore, this is your home.( Kate shrieks) – I represent, it’s like 10 timesthe size of my home, right. – That’s it for the LA AC. Next place, New York City. – I don’t see how it canget better, I genuinely don’t. – We obliged it to New York! – Oh, how lovely.( both laugh) – Puddles! Rain! We has only just been in the LosAngeles Athletic Club.-[ Kate] Uh huh. – It’s pretty great. – It was a golf-club, so ifyou don’t want to workout there’s a lot of other stuff to do. Gym fact! – The term gymnasium comesfrom the Greek word that literally makes school for naked practice. – Oh, that’s more excitingthan I thought it was gonna be. You propel naked in thereand now it’s a party.( Steven roars) – Alright, so we’re in NewYork because we’re going to the final gym now. It’s called, La Palestra. – That doesn’t sound like a gym at all. – You know how you’repregnant and everything so, – I’m aware. – So I understand thatthere’s like a stress evaluation so I didn’t want to put you through that.So today, Ill be doing that. – Thank you, that’s nice. – You’re welcome!( Classical Music) -[ Pat] Welcome to La Palestra guys. I’m Pat Manocchia, I’m the founder. This locate is our firstfacility was initiated in 1994 so this will be our 24 th time now. – Wow.- Yeah. – Congrats.- Thanks. When we built it, there werereally two manufactures right there was the medical industryand the fitness business. And they didn’t really get along so well. We’re both trying to do the same thing, which is take care of people. And I recollected, I miss theseresources in one place. So we built this region. What you’re going to dotoday is go through what our process is. Evaluate, assess, recall, program, administer, and reevaluate. We take orthopedic data, we make behavioral data, nutritional data, andthen you do an exercise physiology test. And we assess that data, symbolizing we look at it then we discuss it. Then we’ll blueprint a programbased off of those exam results and the program will have to do with what you’re weakest at.We have two types of facilities, there are these which arethe residential facilities that we designed, thatpeople in the building get to utilize. Now, they don’t have togo through the entire process, they may justwant to come down and container or use the treadmill. Which is fine with us. -[ Steven] Whoa! – Yay! -[ Pat] We think thatactivity is activity. We’re not arrogant aboutwhat the above-mentioned activities is. In now, in this place, you’re all in, so you’re going to do the whole thing today. -[ Steven] Wow.( ding) -[ Pat] So the firstthing we do with anybody who comes in and whatyou’re going through today is an evaluation. And when we say evaluatethat signifies collect data. – Come on in Steven. – So you guys are gonna gothrough different processes but just for the matter oftoday because we’ll exclusively have today to do this, we’re gonna focus on you and what you’re going through.- My role in the evaluationis to precisely find out basic medical information about you. – Let’s do it. – And you’re young and healthyso if you have any problems, I will be surprised. -[ pAT] So the first thing you would do is you would view our medical team. The reason we do that firstis to see if there’s any underlying medical issuesthat you need to really take care of before we startdoing an exercise program. – I had a major issue with my IT band, it just like, always keptstiffening up and hurting to the point where like, I exactly couldn’t run for like, weeks at a time. -[ Pat] So then after thatyou would see a nutritionist who’s an consecrated dietitiannamed Dawn Poirier. – Give me a epoch in thelife of eating for you. What is a conventional breakfast? – Oh my gosh. Okay, I have to give youcontext, I do a meat demonstrate for the internet.( Kate mocks) – Okay. – Where I dine, for an examplewe’d do an episode on steak and I’ll eat three steaks in one day.- Wow. -[ Pat] Then you wouldsee our orthopedic crew. You’re going to be seeing Dr. Destefano. – There’s a little limitationin right spin and some of the supportivemusculature of the cervix that goes into the shoulder is close-fisted. -[ Pat] Then you’regoing to sit with some of our behavioral squad. Either a psychologist or a social worker. – Can you delineategoals that you would want to accomplish now? – I don’t know how to workout committed my hasten schedule so, figuring out somethingthat works for me and prevents me caused. – Okay. – I’m always on the road andI eat whatever’s available.Just anything. I’ll eat anything. – That’s hard to time. – Yeah. – Then after that you’regoing to see Paul Knapic he’s one of our activity expert and he’s the guy that will doall of your fortitude testing. – You’re gonna grab this dowel. Now arranged the armsas best as you are eligible to. Now you’re gonna perform five deep diddly-squats. – Oh, that’s a penetrating hunker. Okay, I feel I get it now. -[ Paul] Four more periods. And five. Good, swap legs. You’re going to take yourright arm and left leg and spread out, interval at thetop, come back to the center and then you’re going to alternate. Good. Now let’s move on to thestrength test on the other side.Drive it up. One, two, three, good. I’m gonna fill out yoursheet with your figures that’s pretty much it. You’re done. – That wasn’t as bad as Ithought it was going to be. – So, now we are afterall the rigamarole , now what you have infront of you is a folder with you in it. – That’s my name, right there. I’ve never seen something written about me that has, you know, thismany pages of things about me and then you got this, my platform. – And that’s for the next 12 weeks and there’s a series of aims which are statedby a measurement of techniques on how we’re going to goabout doing those things.- So, you’re doing thisfor every person that walkings into the gym. – Everyone does this process, yes. It’s a programme designed centricmodel, it’s not a tutor centric pattern, it’s notwhat I feel like doing to you today. It’s what the data says you need to do. – Based on the resultsof that, you will go to a test which is relevant towhat you need to be doing. So, for example I know thatyou rolled cross country so running is something you’ve done before. So we’re going to do again analysis on you today. That’s basically avideotaped assessment of how you actually move. -[ Steven] So you’re goingto physically record us, and we’re going to watch ourselves operate. – Yep. And then we’regoing to do you off that and we’re going to dosome teaches to try and increase your perceptionof how you’re running and what loping is.What moves you? – I take my feet and I go. – This watch doesn’thave a lot of muscles. What time moved it? – Gravity. – Right. In order to move you have to fall. Where’s your weight? -[ Steven] All on my weapons right here. – On your weapons, that’s it. So, what they’re trying todo is utilize that falling because you’re falling very fast. -[ Steven] I do notlike the watches of this. – Right, you want tobe able to get yourself to the precipitating positionas opposed to breaking, stopping, propagandizing up, falling down. Quick, immediate, immediate. Don’t tilt so much, stay up, stay up. Other hoof, back to me. Quick, don’t settled them down. Up, up, up, up. That’s it. There “theres going”, do you feel that? – It is like the definitionof thumping your steps. – Yes, excellent.( clapping) Stop. Let’s go, come on back on the treadmill. From there we’re going to come back and look at you again after wedo some teaches with you.And see if you picked it up. – This is harder than academy. – Yeah, yeah. -[ Pat] That’s it. Straight up. Straight up. I want to see the bottomof your shoe behind. That’s it. Shorten your door. Make more strides and quicker. Okay, take it down.( exhales) So now we’re in the screeningroom which was initially a bank vault. We have castigates inhere, we do things like we’re going to do here, we do analysis.- I don’t really like being an on-screen personality, and now I have to watch myself, really.( giggles) – There’s a before andafter which is good so. This is the before. So, tell me what you appreciate. What do you notice? – It feels various kinds of ponderous. – Yeah, like stiff.- Like heavy race, yeah. – Okay, let’s do this, let’s seem. That’s your center of massrelative to your patronize. -[ Steven] Oh male. – What direction are you moving in there? – It looks like I’m going backwards there. – Right, so for this to move forward you just wanted to acre here. So, you’re bring ina position where you’re already is progressing. – So, virtually I’mworking twice as hard to go half a distance. – Yes. So now, let’s look atyou after we developed. – Ah, ah yeah.- Wow. – You attend the difference in its own position. – Yeah. I never looked at themechanics of my figure before , now that I think aboutit, it’s like something you should be doing before you run.Because then you canmake small revisions, small-minded revisions. – Yeah. -[ Pat] Okay, when you started landing. See how much effort there is in the acre? You can be found in likewise you’relanding with the end. -[ Kate] Yeah.- Right. – Yeah.- Yeah. -[ Pat] Yeah, that’s better right there. – I see.- Whoa. -[ Pat] To is to be effective with this, you have to be committed to it. What we’re looking for are hurdles. Parties will come inand say, I exactly want to get rid of this. To me, that’s likewatching a foreign movie. You know, the subtitle of that says, “I don’t feel very good about myself” Looks do not satisfy you.How “youre feeling” satisfies you. What you can do fills you. So we try to focus onwork and focus on process and empower parties and then they do that and they’re like okay nowgive me the pull up bar. Let me disappear. – I feel like I’ve been motivated. I feel like a brand-new fresh babe. Which gym was the most worthit to you at its rate? – I’m gonna go with, La Palestra Which blows my spirit becauseI don’t want to be the person to choose the most expensive of something, but I’m a little older than you. So, I gotta think aboutlike how to keep exercising for like, the next 20 times, you are familiar with? And not always disappearing super hard-bitten. – That’s fair. I adoration all the gyms. What can compare to LA AC? Like, It’s massive.- Yeah. -[ Steven] But, I suppose I’mgonna go with AC4 Fitness. Because of the value. It’s such a great deal. -[ Kate] I never thoughtthat I could workout but too be green at the same time. – Alex what’s your worth it winner? -[ Alex] La Palestra. – What?( laughs) There’s a imagination son behind the camera. Thank you, I know I forcedyou to do this video, Kate. – I did get forced into this video. – I believed to be did great. And I think you are theperfect and the only person, who would’ve made this episode worth it.Aye!( screams) – Thanks buddy that’s so nice. – Oh , no problem. Can you discerned me actually? -[ Kate] Yeah. -[ Steven] I feel like I might die. This video is just goingto expose that I am not the strongest person … In the world. I guess that was already evident though. You can just tell ..
